The Ulwembu is inspired from growing up in Africa. Whenever we had
a heavy downpour the rain spiders would scuttle across our living room
floor. They were harmless but would always give our mother a fright.
We would watch them with fascination as their skinny legs would carry
their heavy bodies with ease and elegance, casting a beautiful shadow
as they moved.
Wayne used the same geometry and theory to design the Ulwembu.
The bend in the solid oak legs gives the coffee table strength to
carry the 10mm toughened glass top with ease and create a stunning
shadow re-designing the living room.
